Procedures Depicted:

  • Fat Augmentation
  • Laser Skin Rejuvenation

This patient (in her early forties) was bothered by the appearance of her skin, that was no longer camouflaged by make-up and she also felt she looked older than her age. The before picture clearly illustrates sun damaged skin and age-related volume loss. She requested non-surgical treatment options to help correct her skin and re-established her youthful contours, so a plan was designed specifically for her.

The combination of fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing and fat augmentation (transfer) was performed, which is a very effective treatment strategy for patients with sun damaged skin, while also showing the signs of age-related volume loss in the cheeks and eye areas. There are other treatment options to help restore volume loss, such as fillers (Voluma, Sculptra, Radiesse), but fat transfer is the best for around the eye area. The others work great in the temples, cheeks and elsewhere on the face.
