The fractional CO2 laser is a safe and effective treatment that can be used on a variety of skin types. Before fractional CO2 laser technology was developed the treatment of darker skin types was difficult because of the high risk of pigmentation issues after treatment.

However, fractional CO2 laser technology has allowed darker skin types to be treated with significantly reduced risks and with excellent results. As seen in the before and after photos here the pigmentation is dramatically improved with the associated improvement of fine lines. The downtime for this treatment is very well tolerated and lasts approximately 4 days.
